June 2010 sees the celebration and communication of GRT History and Culture nationally throughout the month for the third year running. This year the GRTHM team shows in Britain for the first time two important exhibitions from Europe concerning the Holocaust against the Roma Sinti. To take the theme of the historical exhibition from the Documentation and Cultural Centre of the German Roma and Sinti further into the present day the curator of one of them, Eva Sajovic, decided to surround the exhibition with contemporary works. Akademia Pstryk as a part of Refugee Week in London
Come and see Akademia Pstryk at Celebrating Sanctuary 2009 festival.
Akademia Pstryk, The Children's Society and a group of Roma children are giving away copies of Roma picture book, "Romano Bumburumbum", at the Refugee Week festival celebrating work of refugee artists.
Especially for the event, a horse-drawn caravan will be transformed into a giant camera obscura, which everyone will be invited to enter and observe the inner workings of light inside photo cameras.
The event is part of Refugee Week, London.
